Parking Permit
Parking stickers need to be purchased by Friday, September 3rd. Starting Tuesday, September 7th all vehicles must have a 2010-2011 sticker on the car to park on campus. Students must have a valid Texas class C driver's license. Permits are $18, check or cash only. Pick up an application from the front office.

Snapshot: Picture Day Reminder
Picture days for all 9th, 10, and 11th graders will be this Thursday and Friday, September 2nd and 3rd! Be sure to bring your completed LifeTouch picture order form and payment with you on your picture day. You will be escorted to the auditorium during your English class period. Please remember that these pictures will be used in the yearbook.
- Friday, September 3rd is "Crazy Sock Day"! Students may wear crazy socks. All other standard dress rules apply. Let's support our Stallions as they prepare to "Sock It To" the North Garland Raiders.
- National Honor Society (NHS) current members only need to come by B-3 (Ms. Johnson) or C-14 (Mrs. Henson) this week for a volunteer opportunity.
- There will be No School on Monday, September 6th in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.
- Senior shirts will be on sale in the cafeteria on "A" days during all lunches and before and after school in room D-15. The last day to order your senior shirt is Friday, September 3rd. They are $20 and the only approved senior shirt. If you ordered a shirt at the end of last school year, please pick it up before or after school in D-15.
- We hope you enjoy the New NMHS Website. Special thanks to the NMHS 2009-2010 Web 2 students, Carlos Chavez, Casey Milstead, Gabby Nunez, Skylar Parkerson, Justin Patterson, and Ashley Sulaica, who worked hard and diligently last semester and during the summer on this website.
- The North Parking lot (by F Wing) will be closed to student traffic every Tuesday through November 11. The parking lot will be open by 8:10am on the other days of the week. Please plan accordingly, park outside the cones and be mindful to those moving equipment in the North lot.

- The 2010 Stallion Homecoming game and dance will be here soon. The dance will be Saturday, September 11th, and the theme is Denim to Diamonds. Prices are $30 presale and $35 at the door.
- The NMHS PTSA website is available for YOU! Check out the wonderful information and keep up with how you can get involved with our PTSA.
- College Night will be held at Eastfield College Monday, September 20, 2010 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Meet representatives from more than 100 colleges, junior colleges and technical/trade schools, as well as military recruiters from across the United States, and learn about the variety of financial aid options available.
- Open House will be held on Monday, September 27, 2010 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Students will be released at 2:15pm for teacher preparation. We encourage you and your family to come!
- Parents and students should take the time to review the NMHS Attendance Guidelines.
- Any student interested in becoming a class officer must attend a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, August 31st either before or after school. If you do not attend the meeting you will not be able to run for class officer. For questions, please see Ms. Lene in G-200.
- The Texas Association of Future Educators (T.A.F.E.), a service club for students interested in education, is having their first meeting, Wednesday, September 1st, in room A-12 at 3:50. We will discuss educational issues affecting students in NMHS, the district, and the state. Make new friends, participate in local service projects and learn what it takes to become a classroom teacher!
- If you are interested in joining the NMHS debate team, or would like more information about debate, please join Mrs. Mendoza for a short meeting on Wednesday, September 1st in room F-106 immediately after school.
- A representative from UT Dallas will be in the library to visit with interested students on September 7th at 9:15. If you would like to attend, sign up in the counseling center. Then, get a pass from your 1st period teacher on the day of the meeting. Attendance will be taken and posted in the teacher's lounge for teachers who would like to confirm who was in attendance.
