Dr. Linda Henrie

Dr. Linda Henrie became the Mesquite ISD's 22nd superintendent when she took office in July, 2005. She oversees more than 34,000 students and more than 4,000 professional, paraprofessional, and auxiliary staff. She has been serving as deputy superintendent since 2001.  

Dr. Henrie started her career in Mesquite ISD as a business teacher at Mesquite High School in 1967.  Prior to her role as deputy superintendent, Dr. Henrie served the district in a variety of administrative positions, including an assistant superintendent for intructional services.

Dr. Henrie was nominated for both the ATPE Administrator of the Year and the WISE Award in 2002.  She has served the Texas Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) for 13 years and was president from 2003-2005.  In 2001, Dr. Henrie was named one of the 100 Heroes of MISD.

Throughout her career, Dr. Henrie has served public education through active membership in a variety of professional organizations and leadership roles, including the following:

  • Serves as President of the Texas ASCD.
  • Serves on the Board of Directors for ASCD.
  • Serves on the Board of Directors for Mesquite Social Services.
  • Serves on the Board of Directors for the Mesquite Symphonic Band.
  • Serves on the Dallas County Workforce Development Board.
  • Served as Vice President, Secretary, and on the Board of Directors of Texas ASCD.
  • Served as the President of the North Central Texas ASCD.
  • Served on the Texas ASCD Legislative Committee.
  • Served as President – Mesquite Education Association.

Dr. Henrie received her undergraduate degree from Stephen F. Austin University and her Master of Business Education degree from the University of North Texas.  She received her mid-management certification from Texas Women’s University, and she was awarded her Doctorate in Educational Administration from Texas A&M – Commerce.
