SCIENCE:
This six weeks we will be studying lab safety, waves,
models, stars, and
our universe. Tutoring times are Tuesday, Wednesday
and Thursday from
3:30-4:00.
MATH:
This six weeks we will discuss operations with integers
and rational numbers. We will also learn how to write
equations from word problems. We will introduce scientific
notations at the end of the semester. Tutoring times
are every morning from 7:30-8:00.
ENGLISH:
The English classes will be reading the short story,"The
Tell-Tale Heart" which will be followed by a personal
narrative about fear. A reading benchmark will be given
and the students will later use the thinking process
to deconstruct the questions. Students will work in
reading circles to analyze a short story of their choice.
Development of vocabulary through a systematic study
of Greek and Latin root words will also be introduced.
Tutoring times Monday thru Thursday from 3:30-4:00.
HISTORY:
This six weeks are learning about exploration and colonization
of the new world. Students have quizzes on a regular
basis so students need to look over their history notes
each night. Also, we are in the process of learning
the state capitals. Tutoring times are everyday after
school except Wednesday from 3:30-4:00.
