Immunizations

It's the Law!

 

All students are required to be properly immunized before entering school. Required immunizations are determined by the grade the student is entering. Fore more information visit www.immunizetexas.com

 

 

Immunization Requirements for Elementary (Grades K-6)

 

Vaccine

Required Doses

DPT, DTaP, DT, TD

Five doses. If the fourth dose was received on or after the 4 th birthday, only four doses are required.

Polio (OPV/IPV)

Four doses. If the third dose was received on or after the 4 th birthday, only three doses are required.

Measles

Two doses. The first dose must be on or after the 1 st birthday.

Mumps

One dose received on or after the 1 st birthday.

Rubella

One dose received on or after the 1 st birthday.

Hepatitis B

Three doses. According to the following schedule:

  • School year 04-05 – Grades K – 5 th and 7 th –10 th
  • School year 05-06 – Grades K-11 th
  • School year 06-07 – Grades K – 12th

Varicella

One dose received on or after the 1 st birthday.

According to the following schedule:

  • School year 04-05 – Grades K – 4 th and 7 th – 10 th
  • School year 05-06 – Grades K – 5 th and 7 th – 11 th
  • School year 06-07 – Grades K – 12th
