MISD boasts a lower-than-average turnover rate, and in the most recent workforce survey 94 percent of employees said they would recommend the district to others as a place to work. In 2013, Mesquite ISD received national recognition as one of the Top 150 Workplaces in the country.

Mesquite ISD offers the following benefits to its employees:

Health Insurance

MISD participates in the State health plan with TRS ActiveCare which is administered by Aetna and CVS Caremark. The district and state contribute $3,564 and $3,192 (depending on which plan you are enrolled in) to an employee's health insurance.

Mesquite Employee Health Center/Pharmacy (MEHC)

The Mesquite Employee Health Center offers quality medical health care to all MISD health plan participants (covered employees and covered dependents enrolled in the MISD health plan) for acute illnesses and chronic disease processes at a very affordable price. Insurance card and photo ID must be presented at time of service.

Physicals, screenings and referrals are also offered to participants, and orders for lab work received from an outside provider can be performed at the MEHC as long as the request is on a Quest Diagnostics requisition.

The MEHC pharmacy will fill prescriptions from any doctor from 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Your prescription may be called in, faxed or dropped off anytime. Insurance card and photo ID must be presented at time of service.

Certain over-the-counter medications are also available at a great savings to all employees of the district through the MEHC pharmacy.

Personal Computer Buy Program

During a specific time each year, employees may purchase a PC or Mac computer from the district’s vendors at the district cost.  Payment may be made monthly over a two-year period through payroll deduction. No interest is charged. All employees are eligible for this benefit after one year of employment.
