Attendance Policy

Attendance policy

According to Texas State Law, your child is required to attend school daily unless illness or a family emergency arises.  A written note is required to explain any absence. Our campus policy allows for three (3) parent notes per year for excused absences. Any absences that follow will require a doctor’s note. (Family emergency absences with be excused at administration’s discretion).  Attendance is extremely important; we strictly enforce the state attendance law.  See additional information on the attendance law in the Student Code of Conduct issued at the beginning of the school year.

Tardy Policy

Each grade level has its own tardy policy. Please consult with your child’s teacher regarding tardiness issues.  Please note, however, that the tardy bell rings at 7:55 AM.  A student is counted as tardy if they arrive in the classroom after the bell has gone.  If your child arrives after 8:10 AM, they are counted as “partially absent” for the school day.

Please Note:  An individual commits an offense if the individual fails to attend school on ten or more days or parts of days within a six-month period in the same school year or on three or more days or parts of days within a four-week period.
