MEHC Inclement Weather Policy

With the winter months upon us, please note the updated inclement weather policy of the clinic and pharmacy on the days that the MISD announces it is closed:

  • Clinic and Pharmacy will be open, but only from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm
  • All scheduled appointments will be automatically cancelled with no charge for missed appointments
  • Employees and/or dependents who were scheduled for an appointment will need to call and reschedule
  • Clinic will see only walk-ins on these days; individuals with a scheduled appointment for that day may still show up, but will be seen on a first come, first serve basis

MEHC is open year round, including winter and spring breaks, and closed on city holidays.

We are excited about the advantage of having the Mesquite Employee Health Center! This unique partnership between the City of Mesquite and Mesquite ISD is an innovative approach to controlling the cost of health care and will serve as a tremendous benefit and convenience to employees and dependents who participate in the respective health plans.

The clinic and pharmacy is housed in the totally remodeled facility located at 300 West Kearney. In addition to a full-fledged pharmacy, the 4400-square-foot plant will have seven exam rooms, a Quest/Lab collection site, and first class furnishings and equipment. Medical records will be entered and maintained electronically with limited use of paper.

The Health Center will be staffed by a clinic manager, physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, nurses, medical assistants, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with the probability of a Wellness Coordinator being added in the future.
