Position: Mechanic

Description: Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Vehicle Mechanic in the Facilities Management department. The appointee will report directly to the Shop Foreman and will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the district's fleet vehicles, tractors, mowers, etc.

Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who:

• have successful work experience in auto repair and small engine repair
• have experience in electronic fuel injection systems
• demonstrate the ability to operate/repair tractor loader, back-hoe, crane truck and welder
• demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills
• demonstrate a willingness and strong desire to learn and develop skills of the trade
• have a service oriented personality

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Salary: Pay Range: $12.89- $14.50/hr; 260-day position

Employment begins: September 13, 2010 or as soon as possible
