Position: Principal – All Levels (Elementary, Middle School, High School)

Description: Mesquite Independent School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of campus Principal. The appointee will report directly to the Administrative Officer-Instruction and will be responsible for the instructional program and operation of the campus. The Principal will work closely with campus staff and central office personnel.

Qualifications: The Principal will have at least a Master's Degree and an Administrator/Mid- Management (Principal) Certificate.

Preference will be given to applicants who:

• possess strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
• demonstrate effective communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
• have demonstrated successful experience as an administrator
• have knowledge of curriculum and instructional strategies
• have an understanding of and compassion for children with various learning styles
• reside within the boundaries of the district
• appreciate, understand, and value multicultural and ethnic diversity

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Salary: Elementary (Professional 7): : $67,461 to $105,439 (217 days)
Middle School (Professional 8): $74,625 to $111,764 (220 days)
High School (Professional 10-11): $90,545 to $110,716 (226 days) 

Employment begins: Elementary – July 18, 2012 (*tentative);                 
Middle School – July 17, 2012 (*tentative)
High School – July 1, 2012
