Substitute Application Process

Substitute Teachers in the Mesquite ISD shall have a minimum of 60 hours of college credit
with the exception of District approved special programs. All substitutes must undergo an orientation/ training program prior to employment.

Substitute teachers will be compensated in relation to qualifications/certification and in accordance with the approved substitute pay schedule.

The following items are required for you to be considered for a substitute teaching position in Mesquite ISD:

Copy of Texas teaching certificate, if applicable.

Please Note:
As stated in Substitute General Polices Handbook, employees will be required to adhere to professional dress standards as specified by the district (including no facial hair).

When all of the above items are received in the personnel office you will be notified regarding an orientation. When you attend the orientation, you will be asked to provide:

1. Copy of Social Security Card
2. Copy of Driver's License
