"Because MISD embraces a culture of continuous improvement and accountability for all, we welcome community and family feedback," said Assistant Superintendent for Planning & Improvement Services Dr. Denise Kutch. Although the finalists for the 2013 Mesquite ISD Film Festival have been chosen, the Viewers' Choice Award is still up for grabs. Video Producer Wade Odom said all six finalists' films are posted on the Mesquite ISD YouTube channel. The film with the most views by Friday, May 3, will become the Viewers' Choice.

First and second prizes will be awarded at the festival, where all six finalist films will be shown, Odom said. The festival will take place at North Mesquite High School's Auditorium on Friday, May 10. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and admission is free.

"This event is a fun experience for the students to show off what they have been working on to the community," said Odom. "It also promotes education in video production and is a lot of fun."
