Welcome to Floyd Elementary!

General Information
School begins daily at 7:55- 2:55. Please make sure your child is here, on time, and picked up on time. The office hours are 7:25-3:40. No cars are allowed in the back parking lot except faculty, day cares and school buses. The front lot is for drop-off and pick-up. Pre-K and kindergarten are dropped off and picked up on the side of the school. Please do not park in the fire lanes or leave your car unattended. The center lane is for through-traffic and the outer lanes closest to the curbs are for drop-off and pick-up.

Dress Code
School dress code has not changed at the elementary level. There is no official uniform in Mesquite for the elementary schools. See the MISD website or code of conduct for details before shopping or getting a haircut. Dress code will be strictly enforced to provide a stable environment for learning.

Registration:

Registration for Kindergarten-5th grade students begins Monday August 6th.  Registration for PreK students begins Wednesday August 8th.  The school is still under construction, so you will have to enter at the back of the building.

Please bring the following items with you to registration:

Student's Birth Certificate

Student's Social Security Card

Student's Shot Records

Parent/Guardian's ID or Driver's License

Proof of Residency

Last Year's Report Card

Note from the principal:

Thank you to everyone for helping our children at Floyd be successful!  However, there are more tests to come this month!  The 3rd & 4th grade STAAR Math and Reading assessments are on April 24th & 25th, and the 5th grade STAAR Science assessment in on April 26th.  Each student is striving to score COMMENDED!  Please continue to make every effort to assist your children with preparation for these very important assessments.
