The Framework for Literacy for the Mesquite Independent School District is aligned with the goals set forth in the governor's Texas Reading Initiative which states: "All students will read on grade level or above by the end of Grade Three and continue to read on grade level or above throughout their schooling." It is our belief that parents, teachers, administrators, and community members must be involved in the process of helping all children reach this literacy goal.
