Perspective From Linda Henrie, Ed.D. – Superintendent of Schools

Part of what makes Mesquite ISD a remarkable place to work and attend school is its connection with the community. Throughout the past two years, a program known as A.L.I.V.E. (Active Leaders Inspired by a Vision of Excellence) has been thriving. The objective of the program is to cultivate advocates for MISD through activities that will enhance understanding about the many facets of the district. However, other efforts to provide information are also underway.

You may also be aware of another important endeavor MISD has taken on with the City of Mesquite to better market our community to the rest of the Metroplex. As part of this image-building campaign, we are enlisting the help of several“ambassadors” who have been selected to share their positive experiences and impressions about Mesquite. Some of these individuals are business owners, some are district employees, some are parents, and some are residents. They all have at least one trait in common and that is their passion about Mesquite and all that it has to offer.

Although these individuals mentioned serve as advocates in a somewhat official capacity, we have many more supporters already positioned to share the good news about Mesquite. As employees of MISD, you witness affirming evidence of Mesquite’s positive attributes every day. You, too, can serve as ambassadors and share the good news about what goes on here. Be a part of the efforts to bolster pride among our residents. Share what you know to be true with those in your neighborhood, at church, in sports leagues and through many other activities that are part of your daily lives. We have a great story in Mesquite. It just needs to be told!
