2nd Place- Broadcast News Team- Caylea Hammers, Josh Bardales and Justin Bennett

These students worked for many hours this year to create a 5 minute news broadcast incorporating 2 well developed news stories, segways, intros, outros and credits. Along with creating a professional set, filming, editing footage and presenting a final production with a presentation. These students were victorious at the regional level over approx. 18 teams from area 1 region 3, around 30 teams at the state level and finished 2nd against the top 20 teams in the Nation. I am very proud of these young men and women, they have proved that their dedication to their program pays off. They definitely developed their expertise in their skill set by the work they did during the school year producing videos with JHCN, Athletics, ROTC, and various school projects.
Hudson Harris Placed 8th Extemporaneous Speech

Hudson competed in an event that challenges students to prepare a formal 3 to 5 minute speech in only 10 minutes on a random drawn Business Topic. No preparation except the 10 minutes for the speech is available, testing the students speaking skills and ability to think on their feet.
