My name is Ahnekii Tanner. I am an assistant principal at JHHS. I have a young son and a wonderful husband. I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. I attended college in Virginia and graduate school at Vanderbuilt in Nashville, Tennessee. I moved to Mesquite for my first teaching job. I have worked at several schools in the district and I am so excited to be at JHHS! I love reading, watching reality TV, and spending time with family and friends. Go JAGS!

I am Lonna L. Jackson, a native of Arkadelphia, AR. I attended Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, where I earned my BSE in Secondary Education and MSE in Educational Leadership. I began my teaching career in Texarkana ISD as a 7th grade Writing teacher, and then I served as an administrative intern. After 6 years of service in TISD,I moved to Mesquite in 2005 and began teaching 8th grade ELA at A. C. New Middle School. After a year of teaching at A. C. New, I transitioned into the role of assistant principal there. This is my 13th year in the field of education, and I'm excited to join the Jaguar team!

When out of the office, I enjoy reading educational books, traveling, and spending time with my family.

I am Assistant Principal Melissa Mendez. I specificly help students with the last name S-Z. I grew up in Mesquite and graduated from Mesquite High School in 1995. I have worked at West Mesquite High School, Mesquite High School, and now Horn High School! I am super excited to be here!

I went to TAMU-Commerce for BA, Masters, and am currently in the doctoral program. I started in MISD in 1996 at Mesquite High School. I was there for a year and then went to McDonald Middle School where I coached and taught special education. I then left MISD for 3 years. I was at Crandall High School and taught math, special education, PE, weight training and was the drill team sponsor. I came back to McDonald Middle School and was ARD Chair for 2 years. I started as an Assistant Principal at Mesquite Academy and was there for 2 years. Then I was at North Mesquite for 4 years. Now I am at Horn. So this is my 15th year, and 12 have been in MISD!

I was born and raised in the deep East Texas town of Marshall. I was a 1993 graduate of Marshall High School. I received my Bachelor's of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2000 majoring in the field of Kinesiology with an endorsement in Special Education. I received my Master's degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce in the year 2008. I have been with Mesquite ISD all 10 years of my educational career. I have a 6 yr. old daughter named Madeline who is my inspiration. I am truly a lover of the outdoors and hold a lot of passion for it. I enjoy hunting, fly-fishing, and camping.
