Introduction

September 15 - October 14 of the calendar year is set aside to celebrate the achievements of Hispanic Americans who have made a difference our country and abroad.You will be spending the next weeks learning about Latino culture and significant figures throughout history. During your time in the library, you will be researching the people that you have chosen from the required list.

 

Assignment

Choose 20 Hispanic Americans and complete one of the following products:

  •  Audiotape - Students may create an audiotape of information collected as an informative show on the radio. The recording will be used at the listening center for others to enjoy.
  •  Big Book - Students create a Big Book in response to the research they collected.
  •  Board Game - Create a board game similar to Monopoly but use facts learned about Hispanic Americans.
  •  Timeline Flipbook - Design a flipbook of the lives and facts of the persons chosen form the list.
  •  Mobile - Create a mobile to hang from the ceiling using the facts and information gathered in the library
  •  Placemats - make placemats using information gathered during research.
