ASSIGNMENT

The students will choose a national park of monument to research. They will be responsilbe for answering the following questions:

  • Who discoverd of built the park/monument?
  • What is the historical significance of the park/monument?
  • When was the park/monument founded or named a national park/monument?
  • Where is the park/monument located (absolute location, relative location, size and elevation)
  • Why was the park/monument created?
  • How has the park/monument improved and.or damaged the local economy?

In the search box for the online catalog put the name of the park or monument you are researching. For example, Carlsbad Caverns, Mt. Rushmore, etc.. You may also use keywords: national parks or national monuments and look on the reserve cart in the library for books on parks and monuments.
