The Jaguar Library provides multiple information sources including reference and fiction books, magazines, newspapers, videos and DVDs, CDs, audio books, and online databases. MISD provides access to a virtual library through Power Search on the Online Research page of the library website. Students may use 24 Dell computers. We also have a mobile lab with 15 MacBooks for library use only. There is a comfortable area for leisure reading near the periodicals and a classroom area wired for use of laptops and data projector. The entire library is Wi Fi.
HOURS: 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
POLICIES
PASSES: During the school day, official "pink" passes are required to come to the library. This includes all lunch periods and 4th period for students who have early release.
SIGNING-IN: All students entering the library during school hours should sign-in at the laptop on the circulation desk.
CHECK-OUT: A student I.D. is required to check out materials. Students may check out 4 books at a time and possibly more for class assignments. The check-out period is 2 weeks. Magazines can be checked out for 3 days.
PRINTING: Students may print from the computers for 10 cents a page. Be careful to click on "Print" one time. (Ask your librarians for money saving advice.) A color printer is available for 50 cents a page. A copier is available that prints for 10 cents a page.
FOOD/DRINK: No outside food or drink is allowed. Hot Chocolate may be available on specially scheduled days before school for $1.00 a cup and must be kept in the study or reading area and not near the computers.
