Introduction

Follow the suggestions below to locate books, database articles and Internet sites with information on the Hispanic person you have chosen. Your assignment is to write 1-1/2 pages on the life, major accomplishments, and why the person is a noted Hispanic/Hispanic-American.


Keywords and Dewey Numbers

In the search box for the online catalog or Pinpoint, put the name of the person.

You can look in the Biography section (B) of the library or on the reserve cart to find books on this topic. Some biographies of groups of hispanic people are found in the 920 section. You could use keywords: hispanic, latino, mexican (or other nationality).

  • NetTrekker has a Famous Person Search. After you open Pinpoint, click the NetTrekker button on the left. Look for "Famous Person" on the right and click it. Put your person's name in the Name box.
  • Above the Name box, click on "Images" to find pictures of your person.
  • Click "Web" to find recommended web sites.
  • You can also click "audio" or "video" to find multimedia web sites.
