Parent Involvement Policy

Mackey Elementary will strive to increase the level of involvement with parents in the planning, review and improvement of Title I, Part A program.  Monthly meetings as well as informative literature will be available to all parents.  The goal of the school will be to promote a strong partnership between the school and the home.

Sessions will be planned to describe and explain the curriculum to parents.  The assessment used to measure a student’s progress and the proficiency levels of students will be readily available to parents.  Clear explanations of such assessments will be given to parents.

Mackey Elementary will promote a line of communication and cooperation between home and school to help increase each student’s personal achievement.  Staff developments at Mackey Elementary will educate staff members on the value of working with the parents to build ties between the parents and the school.

The entire school staff, students and parents will share the responsibility for improved student achievement and the means by which the school and parents achieve such success.
