ANNA POLK, MHS MATH TEACHER

  • Anna Polk, an MHS math teacher, has such an amazing story to tell about her journey to Guatemala through SMU. She was blessed with the opportunity to go to Guatemala and help the local school program there.

Her group helped to raise money for the local school and to restructure the school as well. She also collected fairly used donated band uniforms from schools around the metroplex so that those students will experience what it feels like to be on the band team and wear uniforms to perform. We are proud of you Mrs. Polk and are glad you are a part of Mesquite High School.

TSA STUDENTS PERFORMED WELL AT NATIONALS

  • TSA members from Mesquite High School, Poteet High School and West Mesquite High School competed at the Technology Students Association National Conference held at the Gaylord National Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland from June 27-July 1, 2014.

Several students from Mesquite High School placed in the National Top 10:

    3rd Place - Extemporaneous Presentation
    Matthew Stell

    5th Place - Extemporaneous Presentation
    Heath McClure

    * First time two students from a MISD school placed in the top 10 in the same event at a National Career and Technical Education student organization event.

7th Place - On Demand Video
Jack Nystrom, Daniel Carpenter, Abel Renova, Josh Wendt & Chris Boucher

MHS Advisors: Ricky Broussard & Donny Coursey

Congratulations on your great success, Skeeters!!!
