My Name Is Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Zak Schmidt and I am the Cadet Battalion Commander for the Skeeter battalion. Inside the JROTC program I am also the commander of the Academic Team and I have previously been a member of the armed drill team, the varsity color guard and the rifle team. This is my third year as part of the battalion staff. Previously I was the administrative officer and the training coordinator. Outside of the JROTC program I am currently serving as the vice president of the National Honor Society, a member of the PALS program, and a member of Mentorship and the German Club. After graduation I plan on attending either Dallas Baptist University or Abilene Christian University to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Behavioral Psychology or business. I am here to serve the Battalion in whatever way necessary. I believe that we can move mountains and accomplish great and mighty things this year. SENIORS OUT!!!2012

C/MAJ Rebekah Hickson

Battalion Executive Officer

I am C/MAJ Rebekah Hickson, this year I am both the battalion's Executive officer (XO) as well as the S-1 Administrations officer. My job as the XO is to coordinate with all the staff members and make sure that everything is running smoothly with both them and the battalion as a whole. As the S-1 I work with the JUMS program to take care of all promotions, demotions, awards, and all cadet information from privacy act statements to simply just their information sheets. I plan on making this year a truly meaningful one. As a senior I would like to leave the program better than what I previously found it my freshman year. I would like to truly leave a mark on the program so I know that I was able to make a difference in the long run. After High School I plan on attending ACC in Rockwall for two years then finishing off my college career in Baylor University or Southeastern University in Florida, majoring in criminology minoring in photography. Over-all I just want to make this year the best I possibly can both for myself and the Battalion. Lastly, I still would like to become the world's greatest evil mastermind one day. That is all.

(PICTURE COMING SOON)

Hello. My name is Cadet 2LT Manriquez; I am the S-5. My job is to take pictures, put them in the annual, scrapbook and the Mesquite High School Yearbook. The reason I joined Staff is because I wanted to be a part of what makes the skeeter battalion successful and to show off how awesome JROTC really is. I am from Los Angeles, California and I lived there 13 years, moved here to Texas and have been living here 5 years, happy as can be. I am the oldest of 4 and I am the role model to my family and some of my peers, volunteer work is part of my life it's what makes me come home smiling everyday. The goals I would like to accomplish before I start college are; to graduate high school, get my drivers license, and get a car to be able to use my driver's license. I would like to attend UCLA and major in OB/GYN. Some day I will become an amazing super hero trying to defeat the evil Dr. Hickson, and hide all the orange sherbert from her.
