Hello MHS Faculty & Staff,

Your help is needed to make the MHS website the best it can be. It can be an excellent resource for students, staff, and the community to get information and show our skeeter pride. Please look on the MHS website to see if the information that is related to you, your department, sport, or organization is up to date with current and correct information. I would like for each club and sport to have equal support and representation on our site with your help. Suggestions and ideas for the improvement of the school website are welcomed. In addition, this year I will have the help of my Webmastering 2 students to update and manage the site. Feel free to give them any information appropriate for posting on the school website if they contact you.

Coaches and Sponsors, if you have announcements, rosters, or schedules, and would like it posted on the site, please email a copy of the information to me to be added to the website or submit your information on the website organization submission page. Our students deserve the recognition.

Department Heads, please look at your department page on the site and send me a list of staff in your department who are no longer at MHS (to be removed) and a list of new teachers/aids that need to be added to your department staff list. I encourage the members of your department to send me any missing information about them on the site.

Please check the website and complete the information on the pages linked below with your new or updated information. Once this information is submitted, I will update the information in a timely manner. If you have any questions, feel free to call me at Ext 6506 or an email dcoursey@mesquiteisd.org. Thank you for your cooperation.

A No. MISD will not endorse outside web pages that claim to represent MISD, and no links will be permitted form a MISD web page to any of these web pages. All official web sites must be maintained by an employee of MISD.

Q Why are certain clubs or athletic pages more updated than others?
A It is the responsibility of the coaches or club sponsors to send me information about their organization.

Q Why does it take a few days for new information to get posted to the site?
A The webmasters are given one period to work on the website which totals an hour and half every other day during the school week.

Q Do you get paid extra to be the school webmaster?
A No. The campus webmaster position is completely volunteer. This person is chosen based on technical knowledge and experience with websites.

Q What are your responsibilities as the campus webmaster?
A

The campus webmaster responsibilities include:

  • Authoring and publishing his or her school website.
  • Ensuring content on the school's website is appropriate, accurate, and timely.
  • Handling e-mail responses to inquires, comments, and suggestions generated by the school's website. Campus webmasters should make all attempts to respond to e-mail as quickly as possible.
  • Proofreading the content for errors in fact, spelling, and grammar, punctuation, and word choice.
  • Checking for and replacing broken links in his or her campus website.

Q Do you have any information on my class reunion?
A If I do, it would be posted on the website on the Alumni page. It is the responsibility of the class officers of each class to setup, arrange, and notify me and class members of any reunions. If nothing is posted, it is because nothing has been submitted to me.
