The front doors of the school will open at 7:15. Students will not be allowed to enter by any other door or go to the portables until the bell rings at 7:45.
Students arriving before 7:45 will be required to go to the gym or the cafeteria for breakfast. Breakfast will be served from 7:15 to 7:40. After eating, K-2 students will be expected to stay in the cafeteria until the bell rings; grades 3-6 will go to the gym.
Students arriving after 7:55 will need to go to the office for tardy slip before being admitted to class.
To insure that our students arrive safely and to avoid traffic problems, we have some guidelines in place.
Students may be dropped off in front of the building ONLY unless they ride the bus. Parents will need to use the first lane next to the curb for drop-offs until the second lane is opened. At that time the first two lanes will be used for drop-off. Cars will need to pull forward to the far crosswalk before stopping and students should exit cars on the building side of the lanes of traffic for their safety.
The third lane is for through traffic ONLY - no drop-offs will be permitted from that lane.
Please remember that personal vehicles may not enter the end parking lot on New Market. Our school and day care buses use that area to drop students. They have other schools to serve so the lanes need to be clear for them to enter and exit in a timely manner. Thank you for your cooperation in that regard.
To assist our students in leaving school quickly and safely and to avoid traffic congestion, we have guidelines in place for afternoon pickup.
Students will be picked up in front of the school. Bus students only will be allowed to exit the end of the building to the New Market parking lot.
In front, cars are expected to pull forward to the far crosswalk, or as far as they are able before stopping. Students will proceed to the crosswalk beyond the front steps where they will be released to cars at that point. No students will be picked up at the center crosswalk.
The first two lanes only will be for pick-up The third lane must be left open for through traffic. Parents who wish to park in the outside lane for pickup must exit their cars and proceed to the nearest crosswalk and cross to the sidewalk to pick up their child. No students will be allowed to cross three lanes of traffic to enter vehicles.
Remember, your child's safety is our priority. Please assist us in making arrivals and dismissals as safe as possible. Thank you for your cooperation.
