Why should I join?
What does the Moss PTA do? Below are just a few of their accomplishments
for the 2008-2009 school year. You could be a part of even better things this year!
Rewarded students who parents joined PTA with a free skating party
Publicized good nutrition and Square Meals by distributing print media, magnets, and pencils
Educated students on recycling in our city and collected 200 bags of recyclables on Texas Recycles Day 2007
Sponsored clothing drive which supplied the Mesquite Clothes Closet with three very large boxes of clothing
Provided a Magic Show for those students who sold 3 or more pies in the fall fundraiser
Supplied gifts to all teachers every six weeks to show appreciation for the fantastic job they do all year long
Collected Boxtops totaling $446 this year
Collected Campbell’s soup labels which will be submitted in June
Earned over $200 through Tom Thumb and Albertson’s Community Partners programs
Purchased Wednesday folders for all students
Purchased a Play Day T-shirt for all students, teachers and staff at Moss
Donated $75.00 to the Mesquite Council of PTA’s Scholarship fund
Donated $470 to 6th grade for end-of-year events and T-shirts (amount changes yearly depending on number of students)
Purchased benches and trash cans which will be located in front of the school
Purchased syrup and cups for Play Day snowcones
As lead school, provided breakfast for May MISD PTA Council meeting
After ensuring all other obligations are met, PTA will use the remainder of the money it has raised this year to purchase school supplies for classrooms
