Hi, I am Katie Nelson! This is my 7th year at Motley Elementary. I have taught 2 years in 2nd grade and 5 years in Kindergarten! I love being a teacher. It is the most fulfilling job in the world!! I love MISD!! I went to school Kindergarten – 12th grade in Mesquite and also completed a year long teaching internship in Mesquite. I graduated from Texas A&M University – Commerce twice. My first degree was a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2004 and my second degree was a Master’s in Educational Administration in 2007!
My family is the most important part of me! My husband is Gill, who I have been married to for 4 years. He is a PE teacher for a Middle School and he also coaches football and baseball. My wonderful parents have raised 3 teachers. I have a sister who is a teacher in Mesquite and another sister who is in college to become a teacher!! In my spare time I love to enjoy TEXAS LONGHORN football, the Dallas Cowboys, shopping, gardening and playing with my 2 dogs, Sadie & Tex. I am so glad to be able to be a part of your child’s life at the greatest school on the planet!!!
