Berry Middle School Construction Update

There are eight current construction projects involving schools in the Mesquite ISD. Berry Middle School is adding 18,502 square feet, which will include a band hall and new science lab. It will be ready for the start of the 2017-2018 school year. Click here to view the video.

We are entering the season when inclement weather may cause school closures or delays. Mesquite ISD has a plan in place anytime weather may be a factor. We maintain communication with emergency management personnel and other school districts in the area to ensure we have the most accurate information.

Focused, determined, and resilient are just a few words to describe Southern University Baton Rouge graduating senior Darnesha Moore. The Chicago, Illinois native will be receiving her bachelor of science degree in therapeutic recreation a semester ahead of schedule.

Beginning in this year, the state will begin assigning letter grades (A-F) to all public schools and school districts as part of the new accountability system created by HB 2804.  Our district, as well as many others across the state, is very concerned about the implications of this new accountability system, and it is important for our community to understand why MISD believes this is detrimental for all Texas students.
