Austin - B.J. Smith Elementary School, in Mesquite, received an award for design this week from members of the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) and Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) in Austin. The project, designed by WRA Architects, Inc., was one of three selected from 57 statewide submissions to receive the award. The judging panel consisted of two school board members from TASB, two administrators from TASA and two representatives from the Texas Society of Architects (TSA).
The project’s exhibit will be displayed at both the 1999 TASB / TASA Convention’s Exhibit of School Architecture in Houston and the TSA Annual Conference in Galveston during the month of October. The winning submission will then become part of a traveling display to be shown at various sites and dates around the state through May 2000. |
