Month Celebration: Helping Our Kids Shine
This month marks our annual School Board Recognition Month in Texas, and this year’s theme is Helping Our Kids Shine. More
Kevin Carbo – President - Place 4 - Elected to the Board in 1996. He earned his BBA - Finance from Dallas Baptist University in 1995 and received his MBA from University of Dallas in 1999. He is a personal banker at Chase. Kevin was elected as the 2010-12 National Hispanic Caucus of School Boards (TASB) chair. |
Robert Seward – Vice President - Place 5 - Elected to the Board in May, 1993. A 1968 Mesquite High School graduate, Seward earned his bachelor's of Business Administration in accounting in 1976 from North Texas State University. A senior contract administrator with Luminant, he was elected as the 2008-09 Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) President. |
Phil Appenzeller - Secretary – Place 7 – Elected to the Board in 2009. He earned his undergraduate degree from Evangel University, Springfield, Mo., and graduated from University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law, earning his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1992. He is a shareholder and head of litigation for the law firm of Munsch, Hardt Kopf and Harr. |
Gary Bingham - Place 3 – Elected to the Board in 1996. A 1975 Mesquite High School graduate, he earned his bachelor's of business of administration in 1979 from Stephen F. Austin. He owns Gary Bingham & Associates Insurance Agency. |
Archimedes Faulkner - Place 1 - Elected to the Board in 2010. Archimedes earned his BBA degree from Schiller International University of London 1988 and his master’s degree in 1993 from Texas Christian University. He is a registered financial consultant for Principal Financial Group. |
Christina Hall - Place 6 – Appointed to the Board on Nov. 9, 2009. Elected to the board in 2010 to fill an unexpired two-year term. She attended Temple University in Philadelphia and is a reservation agent for Delta Airlines. |
Cary Tanamachi, M.D. - Place 2 - He served on the Board for a nine-year period, from 1983 to 1992, and was re-elected in May, 1995. He is an orthopedic surgeon, graduating from Baylor University in 1968 and from the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio in 1972. |
