Lawrence Teacher Named Dallas Mavericks' Teacher of the Year
Kelly Harrison Wolf, a kindergarten deaf education teacher at Lawrence Elementary School, will receive a Dallas Mavericks' Teacher of the Year award during half time of the Mavs' game on April 2, 2008. Kelly was nominated for the award by one of her students. She in one of 10 winners from 3800 applications submitted. Kelly will be given $1000 and Lawrence Elementary will receive $1000.
Smith Elementary Teacher Recognized
Robin Johnson, fourth grade teacher at Smith Elementary, received the Sue German Award at the New Jersey Writing Project Conference in Houston. This is the highest award given for outstanding teachers of literacy.
