ACT

The ACT is a college admission test for a student's general knowledge in English, mathematics, reading, and science. There is also an optional writing test, testing knowledge in planning and the ability to write a short essay. Most colleges accept this test as well as the SAT.

PSAT

The PSAT is the practice for the SAT admission test required by most colleges to show your level of knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics and how well you use it. The PSAT also gives you a chance to get the NMSQT scholarship. If you have any questions regarding the PSAT, stop by the counseling center to see Ms. Bell.

  1. This test is administered during school in Fall.

  2. To sign up, go to the Bonded Secretary to pay your fees.

  3. Study Materials are available in the Counseling Center.

  4. Juniors: This test is for you! The PSAT provides entry into National Merit Scholarship Corporation competitions.

  5. Sophomores: All sophomores will take the PSAT for free! Yes, that's right...for free! There is no registration required.

  6. Freshmen: You are invited to take the exam and you must register for the test. If you are a freshman taking a Pre-AP or G/T course, see your Pre-AP/GT teacher or Ms. Bell in the counseling center for a registration form.

SAT

The SAT is an admission test required by most colleges to show your level of knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics and how well you use it. This test is recommended to be taken during your Junior and Senior year.

  1. Additional fees apply if you register late or make changes to your test type, center or date after registering.

  2. Sunday administrations usually occur the day after each Saturday test date for students who cannot test on Saturday due to religious observance.

  3. Study Materials are available in the Counseling Center.
