PHS Student Council
Private passions grow into powerful voices. Student Council promotes leadership, dedication and school spirit through developing a community awareness of student government. The purpose of student council is to plan and organize activities that will foster the social growth and civic dvelopment of the student body. The Pirate Student Council has started to grow into one of the most predominate clubs on campus. Seven committees preside over a large organization, work with the principal periodically to exchange views, and plan out the Student Council calendar. Some events that Student Council has sponsored includes Homecoming festivities, Red Ribbon Week, Teacher Appreciation, Carter Blood Drive, Men of PHS, Habitat for Humanity and Children's Cancer Fund. Membership is open to all students.
