Rugel Elementary PTA

What is the PTA?

The purpose of the PTA is:

  • To promote the welfare of the children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.
  • To raise the standards of home life.
  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
  • To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
  • To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

The Rugel PTA is comprised of parents, teachers, and members of the community working together for the success of our children. We meet together to study issues within our school and find solutions. We support the students and teachers by selling school supplies, hosting and attending workshops, and raising money. This money has helped the PTA provide a welcome breakfast for new families, classroom grants, student planners, student take home folders, health family night, class parties for bringing in the most members, parent education opportunities, programs at PTA meetings, play day t-shirts, class holiday parties, birthday coupons for ice cream, p.e. equipment, TAKS water, campus beautification, marquee, reflections and environmental contests, "stuff the sleigh", canned food drive, clothes closet, clothing drive, stocking the Rugel clinic, school supplies, and teacher appreciation luncheon.

To join the PTA, fill out a membership form, which you can get from the school office. Membership dues are $5.00 per member. Checks (with driver's license number), money orders, and cash are accepted.
