The following scholarships have been received in the counseling center at Mesquite High School. Please check in the counseling center at your high school for additional scholarships.

Future African American Leaders of Economic Influence Financial Education Scholarship African American High School seniorgraduating in spring of 2008 whose principal residence is Denton,Dallas, Tarrant or Collin counties, Applied or accepted into a 2yr or 4yr college or community college, leadership experience, essay, one letter of recommendaton $1,000 4/30/2008
Dr. Joey M. Pirrung Foundation Scholarship For any MISD senior or graduate who participated in athletics durig high school and is pursuing a career in medicine or one of the allied health fields. Scholarship honoree is chosen on academic merit. Honoree may reapply each year until they secure a degree. Applications available in high school counseling centers. $500 5/1/2008
Rotary Club of Mesquite For Mesquite ISD and Dallas Christian School Seniors. GPA 3.25 or higher, School service, Community service, and Financial need. Applicants must request an electronic application from their high school counselor or paper copy may be picked up in high school counseling center. Sam Houston State U. Smith-Hutson Scholarship Program Incoming freshman declared business major and accepted for admission, Texas resident, financial need, essay, two letters of recommendation, unmarried with no children and available for a personal interview in May. up to $12,000 per year before May 2008
