About Seabourn Elementary
S. M. Seabourn was named for Samuel Monroe who was a prominent Wylie landowner and roofing contractor. He opened and operatured the first movie theater in Mesquite using Delco lights in 1911. He traveled to Mesquite by buggy once a week to run the theater. The family moved to Mesquite in 1935. Our school was opened in 1966 and the first principal was Dr. Byron Butler. |
