Good afternoon Parental Involvement Contacts,

The February Parental Involvement newsletter is now available in English and Spanish at the following website. This is the third newsletter for the 2011-12 school year. It features articles on Handling Test Stress, General Homework Tips for Parents, Protecting Your Child from Cyberbullying, 10 Tips to Healthy Eating and Physical Activity for You, and 7 Characteristics of Successful Parents.

As a reminder, districts or campuses may copy the newsletter in its entirety to send home to parents and/or include the link to our newsletter on their website. Please disseminate this information to campuses in your district.

CAMPUS VISITORS . . .

All visitors to Vanston Middle School (parents, guardians, volunteers, contractors, etc.) will now be required to present a valid state issued ID in the office.  The ID number will be entered into the new V-Soft computer system.  V-Soft helps track visitors, students, faculty, contractors and volunteers at our school, thus providing a safer, more monitored environment for the students.

V-Soft also has the capability to provide alerts on people who may jeopardize the safety of the campus.

We at Vanston feel certain that this will help keep our campus a little safer, and ask for your cooperation in presenting a valid state ID when checking in at the school.  Thank you in advance for your help in this matter.
