School Supply List

Required Basic School Supply List:

         Vanston is implementing a school-wide campus notebook in an effort to better organize the students. Following is a basic list of required supplies that your child will need to be properly prepared for class on a daily basis:

          You will need to purchase these REQUIRED supplies for your student prior to the 1st day of school.

• 3 inch, 3 ring binder with pockets
• 1 package of dividers
• Pencil pouch
• Pens and Pencils (black/blue ink pens) (#2 pencils)
• Highlighter
• Notebook paper

Additional Supplies:

          In addition to the basic supply list required of all Vanston students, individual teacher supply lists will be given to the students during the first week of the school year. Please do not purchase any additional supplies until directed to do so by your student's teachers; folders, spiral notebooks, etc. may never be used.

Backpacks:

          Locker use at Vanston Middle School will be limited. To better assist students in carrying their supplies and materials, students will have the option of using a "mesh" or "plastic see-through" backpack. Again, purchasinig and using a "mesh" or " plastic see-through" backpack is optional, not required. If you should purchase your child a backpack, ensure it is 100% "mesh" or "plastic see-through." Any backpack of any other style or material will not be allowed on this campus for any reason. Should a style other than a "mesh" or "plastic see-through" backpack be found being used or stored in a locker, it will be collected and returned to the parents only.

Registration Requirements

Parents are required to provide the following information for registration:

• Proof of residency -- your current lease, gas, electric, water, or phone bill. Receipts for new utility service will also be accepted.
• Photo ID of parent/guardian
• Beginning of school year -- final report card from previous school indicating promotion or retention. During school year -- a copy of withdrawal papers with withdrawal grades
• Copy of student's social security card or state ID number
• Copy of student's birth certificate
• Copy of student's immunization records
• Completed enrollment forms provided by Vanston Middle School

All of the above need to be submitted in order for your child to be enrolled.

Progress Report and Report Card Dates

*Students will also receive a copy of their report cards the same day that it is mailed.
