2010-2011 WM Girls Basketball Success
The Lady Wranglers finished 1st in our district with Sha’Georgia Williams being one of area leaders in assists. Kierra Davis lead the team in rebounds. While Dominique Taylor lead the team in 3-point shooting this season. Jasmine Dumas and Desiree Johnson were two key starters that were consistent in scoring for the Lady Wranglers.
Four months ago the West Mesquite Girls Basketball team was unranked and a playoff run was so far down the line, but the girls ended top-ranked this year and worked hard this season. The Ladies won the Regional Semi-final tournament Friday, Feb. 2, but lost on Saturday, Feb. 26 to Dallas Lincoln (56-43).
This year will be the second time in WM’s history to make it to the Semi-final tournament overcoming first round playoff dismissals in the last two years. The Ladies have earned all the attention they have been receiving. Way to go girls on a record breaking season! |
