ParentCONNECT is Here!

The goal of MISD is to get all parents on the ParentCONNECT so that they know how their children are doing in school and can assist them if assistance is required.The ParentCONNECT is a website where you can view key student and school information 24/7. Assistant Superintendent of Planning and Improvement Services Dr. Denise Kutch said "about one-sixth of the MISD families, about 6,300, are now connected."

MISD is making a push for more fridns and fans through social media. Campaign kicks off this week with a goal of better communications with everyone that they serve. Social media avenues include a district Facebook page, YouTube and Twitter accounts, and a Web site blog by Superintendent Dr. Linda Henrie.

Destination: Graduation Program

Who: The Concilio Life After High School Program
When: Mondays, starting October 10, 2011, except October 31: Morning classes 9:00 am - 10:30 am; Evening classes 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Where: West Mesquite High School

What is the Concilio?
A non-profit organization, experts in parent involvement and the Hispanic community.

What is the Destination Graduation Program?
It's an 8 week program that teaches parents how to get invovoled in their child's education. Classes are 1 day per week, and are offered in the morning and evening in English and Spanish.

Why are we at your school?
To foster a positive, knowledgeable relationship between students, parents, and the school.

The 2011-2012 tutoring schedule by subject and teacher has been posted on the Faculty & Staff webpage.

Early Release Requests

No early release requests will be accepted after 3:30 pm. Thank you for making necessary arrangements prior to this time.

Student Recoup Hours

Student recoup will be in the cafeteria every Tuesday and Thursday from 4 to 5. It is your responsibility to attend, students.

Get Connected at Home with Comcast Cable Serivce

Comcast Cable service has a program to provide internet access at a low cost of $9.95 a month to families with studnets on the free lunch program. They also have a plan to provide a notebook computer for only $150! If your family does not have Internet access at home, this may be a GREAT way for you to get connected.
