Standards for Writing for WMHS
All handwritten papers must meet the following criteria:
- not be on spiral paper
- be regulation sized paper (8 x 10 1/2)
- not be ripped from a notebook so as to tear the holes
- have a complete heading
- be titled
- be in ink (blue or black only)
- be written in cursive style
- have clear margins
- have all mistakes marked through once (no correction fluid, please, nor arrows to denote correct wording)
- have student's name on all pages, not just the first page
- be stapled or paper-clipped rather than dog-eared
- not demonstrate abbreviated words
- not be folded more than once
- be on wide-lined paper
- and, be your best work
Individual teachers will determine if students may write on the top line or bottom line of multiple page assignments.
By following these standards, students accept RESPONSIBILITY for attaining the best grade possible and demonstrating QUALITY and PRIDE. By so doing, students indicate pride in completed products and a personal desire to settle for nothing less than the BEST!
