Vanguard Opportunity Available to Non-Mesquite ISD Students Who Reside in District
Students who live within the boundaries of Mesquite ISD but are not currently enrolled as MISD students are eligible to be considered for admission to Vanguard High School. If you know a parent or guardian who might be interested in the Vanguard High School opportunity for his or her current 8th-grade student, please share this process.
Interested students should complete the following steps:
Complete the Google Vanguard Interest Form by the end of the day on Friday, Jan. 13, 2023.
Once the form is completed, the parent/guardian must submit the student’s report card, complete attendance record (with tardies noted), and discipline record (even if blank) from the first semester (Fall 2022) to Clarissa Jayroe via email or mail. (must be postmarked no later than Friday, January 20, 2023 at 4 p.m.)
Email Clarissa Jayroe at email@example.com, or mail to:

Using the information listed above, the non-MISD student will be placed through the same selection process as current MISD students.
The parent/guardian and student will be notified on Feb. 1, 2023, if the student has been accepted into a program or placed on the waitlist.
At that time, students will need to respond with either “accept” or “decline.”
Program Accept: Student is committed to attending Vanguard for all 4-years as a full-time student.
Program Decline: Student is choosing not to attend Vanguard, and his/her spot will be given away.
Waitlist Accept: Student would like to be considered for Vanguard admission if spots become available.
Waitlist Decline: Student no longer wants to be considered for Vanguard admission.
Note: The consideration process for Vanguard admission is also available to the children of all Mesquite ISD employees.
