MISD Counseling Services is committed to working with our staff, students and families to be both a support and a resource for students who struggle with thoughts of harming themselves. We actively seek out students who may be having those struggles so that we can intervene and refer them appropriately for psychiatric evaluations and follow-up care. Additionally, MISD Counselors endeavor to create a “soft place to land” for those students who are struggling emotionally. To that end, we proudly roll out a message of love, hope and encouragement to our students. We want them to remember that they are loved, they are valued and the world needs them in it. We want to remind them that there is hope, that we can help and want them to stay here with us.
