June 10, 2026 - Statement Regarding Offensive Social Media Post

Mesquite ISD is aware of an offensive social media post made by a former employee that has caused significant concern within our community.

There has also been inaccurate information circulating online regarding the individual's role. The individual was neither a teacher nor assigned to Poteet High School. The district immediately initiated an investigation into this matter. As of this afternoon, the individual is no longer employed by Mesquite ISD.

Conduct of this nature has no place in our organization and does not reflect who we are as a district or the standards we expect of our employees. The content of this post is reprehensible and fundamentally inconsistent with the values and expectations we have for anyone who serves in Mesquite ISD. We are committed to fostering an environment where every student, family, staff member, and community member is treated with dignity, respect, and a sense of belonging.
