In its announcement, Quality Texas stated the following about Mesquite ISD: “Senior leaders continuously seek to understand the needs of students in diverse ethnic and instructional segments and develop and implement programs, offerings, and services that meet the changing needs and requirements of the student population. Programs and processes are focused on continued student success. The district's culture is guided by a shared vision, mission, and core values. Mesquite ISD can best be described as growing a culture of excellence focused on valuing students, families, workforce, and community.”
Mesquite ISD is only the fourth school district to receive this prestigious award since the first awards were presented in 1994. Superintendent Dr. Linda Henrie said, “Achieving this level of excellence is a direct result of a team effort and a focus on our district’s mission and vision. Every employee contributed to this accomplishment, and we are extremely honored to be recognized in this way.”
Quality Texas is the state chapter of the national Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. Mesquite ISD has been using the Baldrige Criteria for excellence in its strategic planning process since 2005. |
