Insurance Program

Health Insurance
MISD contributes $2,520 and the State contributes $900 per year to your health insurance in the MISD Health Plan. The district also offers the GAP Plan medical coverage. You will receive specific rates at the session designated to explain the benefits plan.

Disability (Income Protection) Insurance
Monthly benefits from $200 - $2,500 per week based on your salary.
Accidents payable - first day; sickness - fourth day.

Dental Insurance
There are two dental plans to choose from. You will receive specific information at time of hire.

Life Insurance
Additional life insurance is available on a group basis in amounts ranging from $20,000 to $500,000 of coverage. Spouse life and dependent life optional.

Cancer Insurance
Individual $22.65; family $46.84.

Car Insurance and Homeowners Insurance
Cost-competitive group rates with the added advantage of payroll deduction.

Legal Liability
An affordable legal service plan designed with you in mind.

Long-Term Care Insurance
Takes care of convalescent home costs not covered by Medicare or other insurances. It preserves the dignity of the elderly and gives them freedom of choice as well.

Vision Care Plan
We offer a comprehensive prepaid vision care plan.
