Summer Food Service Program Starts
June 11 or 17 at Several Schools

Children in Mesquite will once again be able to enjoy a free, nutritious meal throughout the summer. Mesquite ISD will be the sponsor for the Summer Food Service Program that offers free breakfast and lunch. This program is provided to the community by the Texas Department of Agriculture.

The program starts June 11 or 17, depending on the campus.The meal program schedule, with differing times and start dates among some schools, has been expanded to cover more campuses this summer.

No advance qualifying or registration is required. This program is open to all children ages 1 to 18 years of age without charge regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.

Meals will be served daily at these specific district school cafeterias listed. To enter most cafeterias, follow the signs to the building's rear entrances.

Our Mission Statement:

In order to develop within each child appropriate, lifelong nutritional habits and contribute to a healthy learning environment for each child, the staff of Food and Nutrition Services for the Mesquite Independent School District is committed to:

  • Encouraging healthy individual food choices

In so doing, Food and Nutrition Services will positively contribute to the success of each individual learner in achieving educational goals and a lifetime of healthy choices for the future.

Administrative Officer, Rusty Talbot, and Director, Bette Mogg, are making every effort to serve healthy and delicious school meals to your children. We encourage parents to join their children for school meals.
