Hours
The
library is open from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. every school day.

Facts
AMS
Library houses over 15,000 reference, informational and fiction
books, videos, and magazines. Twenty computers are Internet networked
and available to students for research. MISD has provided students
with over 25 online databases to help enhance student learning.
The library offers individual study areas along with tables for
class work and homework plus a leisure reading area for the students
use.

Policies
Passes:
Students entering the library before school and during school, must
bring a pass from their teacher, and sign in. After school, no pass
in required.
Check-Out:
Students are allowed to check-out four items at a time. This could
include books, magazines, and videos. Books are checked out for
two weeks; magazines for three days, and videos for overnight. Books
may be re-checked for an additional two weeks if needed.
Overdue
items: Students will be charged the cost of the item when it is
four weeks late.
Printing:
Students are not allowed to print from the computers unless they
have permission from the librarian or their teacher. If you print
without permission, you will be charged ten cents per page. Be sure
to only "click" on Print one time.
Internet:
The Internet is to be used for class assignments only. It is not
to be used for playing games, surfing the Web, or checking personal
email at school.
Copy
machine: There is a copy machine available in the library for student
use. It is ten cents a copy.
Library
Staff
The AMS
library is staffed with one full-time librarian and student library
aides each period. Mrs. Becky Frierson is a certified teacher with
a Bachelor of Science in Education with an English specialty from
Texas Tech University. She also has a Masters of Education from
A&M-Commerce and a Learning Resources Endorsement from the University
of North Texas. Mrs. Frierson began her teaching career here at
Agnew in the classroom as an English/reading teacher.
