Peeps by Scott Westerfeld

The story is about a teenager who is infected, by a girl named Morgan, with a disease that causes people to become vampires.  After he is infected, he becomes a secret agent for a company called Night Watch, while he continues to look for the girl who gave him this disease.  Will he find her?   Will he find a cure?  You can find out by reading the book.

Strengths: The story has lots of drama, suspense, and mystery.  It's a book that is hard to put down.

Weaknesses:  In my opinion, there are none.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Twilight is a book that talks about a mortal teen girl, Bella, who has to move in with her father.  She starts a new life, not knowing that she will find her first real true love, Edward Cullen, who is a vampire.  With this novel, you will experience adventure and passion as Edward and Bella go to great lengths to be with each other.

Strengths:  Twilight is a catcher; you won't want to let it go.  I think others will enjoy this book because it is any girl's dream to find that one guy who will do anything to be with you.

Weaknesses:  For me the only weakness is that the story can't happen in real life.

Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause

In this story Vivian, a teenage werewolf, falls in love with a human a year after her father dies in a fire. Will she migrate away from her new home with her pack, or will she betray them and stay with the one she loves? You have to read the book to find out!
Strengths: I loved this book for its relation of humans and werewolfs and I am happy to finally see that there is a new story with werewolfs that tells more about their background. It has a strong appeal to teens and adults due to its details as well as its relation to the average person. Like most good books, it has a little religious controversy in it. I think that anyone who likes teen romance, mysteries, or fantasy books would really like this book.
Weaknesses: I did not see any weaknesses in this novel. Very pleased!

The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray

In this adventurous, mysterious threequel, Gemma, along with her closest companions, try to bring peace to a land not seen.  She struggles with who she wants to become and has to make a lot of hard decisions, because what you see isn't always what you get!

Strengths:  I liked the romance and the suspense.  It is well-written and has romance, comedy, and action so guys could read it, too.  I think readers will enjoy the mystery and imagery in the novel.

Weaknesses: At some moments in the book, it slowed down a little, which meant there were some chapters that didn't catch my attention.

In the Serpent's Coils by Tiffany Trent

Corrine, a young girl growing up during the Civil War, begins to have family problems. Her father, a soldier, is missing and her mother dies mysteriously. Corrine also has a secret--her ability to interact with fairies. Sent away by her uncle to live at the Falston Academy for Women, Corrine discovers dark secrets and the truth about her identity and those around her. Can she trust anyone? Find out what lies ahead for the heroine in this suspenseful novel. Strengths: I liked how the author used an historical setting. The forbidden romance and the secrets kept me wondering about the characters. The novel has a very good plot and the suspense builds as the story progresses. Readers might enjoy this book if they like stories about mythical characters, such as the fairy/vampires in this book.
