Library Information
Library Hours: The library is open from 7:45a.m. until 4:00p.m. every school day. Library Facts: PHS Library houses over 27,000 reference, informational and literature books, videos, CD's, and magazines. Twenty-two computers are Internet networked and are available to students for research. Curriculum related databases and other Internet resources have been provided by MISD to enhance student learning. The library provides a leisure-reading area as well as tables for a more structured class setting or homework assignments. Policies: Passes: Except before and after school, students are required to have a pass from their teacher to visit the library. Students may work in the library during lunch, but are required to remain the entire time. All students, unless attending with a class, must register at the front desk. Check-Out: The normal check-out time for students is two weeks. Books may be re-checked as needed. Reference books, magazines, and videos with teacher approval, may be checked out overnight. Printing: Black and white computer printouts are $.05 cents per page. A copy machine is available for student use costing $.10 cents per page. Print and Video Resources: Magazines: We currently subscribe to over 40 various titles of magazines ranging from professional to contemporary interest reading. Due to high demand, the magazines remain in the library for reading pleasure. Videos: The video library consist of 1,000+ titles which are used in conjunction with curriculum areas. Videos are checked out by teachers and may be checked out by students with teacher permission on an overnight basis. PHS Library Staff: Sandy Eckstien , Librarian
